“The Man Who Came to Dinner”

Synopsis:
As the action begins, Mr. Mr. Whiteside is a “guest” in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley, having slipped on their doorstep and broke his hip. Six weeks of confinement follow. Mr. Whiteside is a famous radio personality (action takes place in the 1940’s) and feels the Stanley family is quite beneath him. Neighbors are anxious to stop in to “get a peek” at the famous Mr. Whiteside. Various friends, business associates, and acquaintances of Mr. Whiteside also drop in.

This comedy is written by Moss Hart and George Kaufman, who also penned “You Can’t Take It With You”, presented by the LCAC last fall.

The play will be directed by Jan Loeb. Tryouts will be Thursday, September 25, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the home of Jan Loeb. The play will be presented December 12, 13 and 14 2008 at the Lawrenceville HS auditorium. Ages 18 and up are encouraged to audition.
